Ronald D. Gosses has lived in Denver, Colorado, Cincinnati, Ohio, Toronto, Canada, Yarmouth, Maine, Bowling Green, Ohio and Richmond, Kentucky. Both his parents were artistic, so his involvement in art was natural and
early in his development. As a young child, when his teacher said to draw something beautiful, Gosses happily drew Mae West with all her obvious attributes.
Dismayed and worried, the principal quickly contacted Ronald's parents, who strongly supported their son in the ensuing fray. This was his first realization of
how powerful and polarizing a simple drawing could be. He was fascinated; and from then on, art was an irresistible and constant companion in every aspect of his life.
A childhood accident left Gosses unable to see in three-dimension, and although it never affected his career as a designer, it did influence his early
expressionistic paintings. Recently, Gosses has been able to see air and depth for the first time in years; and his latest paintings are abstract, and dramatically
reflect this new view of the world.
As Executive Vice President for two major retailers in the U.S.A. and Canada, Gosses developed all aspects of store design, visual merchandising, fashion,
fixtures and graphics. He traveled extensively in Europe and Asia designing clothing and furniture; and worked with famous design houses, including Oleg Cassini,
Tommy Hilfiger, Nolan Miller, Niedermaier and Pucci International.
