"The true mystery of the world is the visible not the invisible". This line by Oscar Wilde resonates strongly with me, and perhaps that is
why I do not usually intellectualize my artwork. I feel it is driven by my emotions, rather than by my mind. Art allows me to express my visceral
responses to everyday stimuli.
My paintings are three-dimensional abstracts; and I consider them to be a form of sculpture on canvas. They are not static. Ever changing
in different lighting and from different angles, they sometimes seem to elicit an almost involuntary urge to touch them.
In today's world, "3-D" seems to be a catchword. Hi-Definition TV, still in its infancy, will soon be obsolete as the medium is already
planning "3-D" TV. There is a sociological, if not cultural, push to seek ever - greater sensory experiences. My paintings could be considered
a response to this phenomenon, although they are in essence, a natural progression of abstract expressionism.
